Post 7 – Social Media Elements
In order to raise awareness not only with poster and banners on the streets, but across the social media platforms as they have gained audience interests over nearly a decade. Using Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, You Tube, Twitter and so on has helped many brands which were previously unknown into a massive company.
Using social media can help organisations and social action campaigns raise awareness of their goals, needs, and occasionally even the existence of a problem. Social media can provide a platform for the sharing of narratives, photographs, and facts in an accessible format that engages an audience by assisting in their understanding. The effort to raise awareness aids in the formation of a community around a problem. (Maryville University, n.d.)
However, for this project I won’t use the real accounts as they require over time growing, but imitations using XD to give realistic effect.

What is E-Commerce?
The buying and selling of goods or services electronically over the internet is referred to as “ecommerce.” It can also apply to other online activities like bidding, purchasing tickets, and banking. Ecommerce, which uses computers, tablets, or smartphones, is the purchasing and selling of goods and services online. Business-to-business, business-to-consumer, consumer-to-consumer, and consumer-to-business transactions all fall under the umbrella of ecommerce. (Indeed Editorial Team, 4 February 2020.)
This project in terms of E-Commerce will follow consumer-to-consumer as the organisation relies on the consumer, but Last Hope itself is created by the consumers. Consumers selling to other consumers constitutes consumer-to-consumer e-commerce. This type of online business is exemplified by websites like eBay and Craigslist.
Example of E-Commerce
There are various examples of E-Commerce which would suite this project are Retail, Physical Products, Services and Crowdfunding which means when money is collected as product capital in advance of a product being available.
Advantages of E-Commerce
Organisation can benefit from the E-Commerce by gaining a reach to a wider audience and shopping from home is more convenient for the consumer at the same time giving a wider range of ways to donate to homeless organisation.
Disadvantages of E-Commerce
However, there are some difficulties for the users when purchasing the product such as inability to see a product before buying it or inconvenience which won’t be the case with Last Hope as the sold products will be able to return the item if they don’t like or don’t want it anymore and receive a refund.
Merchandise
Giving or selling merch is also another part of the advertisement as it can benefit the organisation by building brand awareness and recognition, engage with your audience and drive additional funds. These funds are extremely important for shelter which will give a lot of opportunities for the community (Rocket Charities, 27 August 2019).
Example of Merchandise
Summary
Establish a social media presence for the sale of goods that will assist in raising money for a facility where the homeless can stay for free and compassionate people who care for them. Since there are more homeless persons sitting on the streets of Hull, the local community would be the intended audience for this.

In order to protect the privacy of the homeless persons I planned not to photograph them; I chose instead to use AI-generated art that was redrawn in my style to convey feelings.
AI Generator
Artificial intelligence (AI) is widely regarded as one of the most revolutionary advancements in human history, with the world already witnessing its transformative potential. Not surprisingly, artificial intelligence-based advancements are powering some of the most cutting-edge solutions we utilise in our daily lives (Ashish Sukhadeve, Forbes, 9 February 2021).

During the experimentation process, I decide to use the AI generator to produce the graphical illustration which would help to give emotion to the website and clearly express the message. So, I typed to the generator “”, which produce some illustrations. These illustrations will be used to give emotions to the website and perfectly express the idea behind the purpose of organisation.

The AI generated art cause a huge controversy regardless the ethical issues because the original pieces could be from all over the web and can’t be references. Personally, the AI generator could be seen as an idea generator which will generate the given/typed idea into a desired art piece while decreasing the time needed for the designer to produce the idea.

Its problem-solving abilities could benefit people and communities all around the world by addressing today’s most difficult concerns. We should continue to see a wide range of AI applications and new developments for societal good if AI is used wisely (Ashish Sukhadeve, Forbes, 9 February 2021).

Product Requirements
The website of a local organisation “Last Hope” will raise awareness of the homeless people and how this organisation with work to help them. The important aspects of the organisation such as date, time, and potential locations, as well as the awareness of accessibility of various features on the website and app themselves.
App
App of Last Hope will raise awareness of the situation and educate people of that people are different. This means not all people are the same, so some homeless people could really benefit a little bit of help.
User Requirements
Main users of the organisation would be locals, people who want to help and potential ways they can help as they need to efficiently access the areas and ways to donate in order to give to create a shelter for these people without any difficulties or misunderstandings. Website will also provide key information with emotional illustrations to efficiently express the core message in order to promote the organisation project as more people will be aware of it which didn’t even care or notice before.
Business Requirements
Branding and interactivity of the organisation would attract the locals by Last Hope promoting communal unity and a solution which would benefits everyone in the city. Core message should have been made clear throughout the website. Website should have an excellent user experience which allows the website to be interactive, efficient in use, give way for people to donate and informative to the local community. Potential competitors to the Last Hope would be other helping organisations in Hull and European local organisations which have already include different ways to help these people such sleeping shelters and food centres.
Summary
Stakeholders were introduced and how will the project meet the requirements while keeping the core message and purpose. An example of a competitive organisation was “Crisis” which shows different ways in which people can help homeless people with volunteering and projects they have introduced to raise donation to help homeless people.

Logo

In order to create the logo, I did research into different helping organisations and their logo’s, so it’s recognisable to the users in terms of purpose/message of the project. As long research, I did a sketch of how the logo would visually look like and so it meets design essentials just as colour, typography, conceptual design and composition. After 3 different concepts were sketched, they were transferred to the Illustrator and with help of Path Finders converted to the vector designs.

After choosing the perfect logo, I went back to the moodboard for the hex numbers of the chosen colours and typography. I have also additional elements to make the logo more professional and the hand giving other hand their heart which is in a darker colour to show stereotypes is broken with house and heart coming from this person as small kindness could mean a lot to the other person.

The major message, which was how society mistreats and misunderstands the homeless and how they may receive assistance, is represented by the logo. As it takes mental force to act physically, even a modest act of kindness could motivate a homeless person to reevaluate their situation and perhaps even change their life. So the heart is given to the homeless person. Their hand is a pale shade of grey, whereas the recipient’s hand is a toasty shade of brown.
The dark grey color broken heart stands for stereotypes. There is a warm, cozy home within this heart, where everyone deserves to live with hope. Since persons who are homeless would receive support if they desired to completely improve their lives, the term “Last Hope” was chosen. This company uses a Segoe Script typeface that was hand-drawn.
Summary
As the branding was created with logo. A graphic identity was also created with intro and outro logo animation for video content. Brand design manual involves all the design aspects used throughout the project. Next step is to introduce the stakeholders and how will the project meet the stated requirements while keeping the core message and purpose.

Post 1 – Introducing Campaign
Core message
A portfolio project with the intention of assisting the homeless community was finally conceived after lengthy brainstorming. This research will examine how the homeless are misunderstood by society, how they are mistreated, and how they can get assistance throughout the winter. A homeless person may be compelled to reconsider their situation and potentially even change their life by even a modest act of kindness since you must mentally desire something in order to act on it physically.
Now homeless organisations have highlighted a lack of resources and insufficient help as the reason why individuals are slipping through the cracks, according to Hull Live. As a result, Hull’s streets are becoming increasingly crowded with people. (Susie Beever, Hull Live, 24 November 2022) Yorkshire Press “From April to June 2022, 362 persons in Hull were classified as homeless and living without a fixed address” (Joe Gerrard, Yorkshire Post, 28 December 2022.).
Many of these people end themselves on the streets as a result of a range of vulnerabilities, including those related to fundamental requirements that are essential to daily existence, such as food and shelter, income, healthcare, and even healthcare.
Target audience
Since these people walk and visit Hull for various reasons, they will be the project’s target audience in Hull and the East Riding. The age range for this project cannot be determined, though, because everyone in the community will be impacted and everyone’s participation will help the situation. This would also reach more members of the neighbourhood who are unaware of the problem and foster strong local ties, which are currently lacking.
Public perception of homeless people

Instead of studying the articles, I choose to visit Quora to see what people think of the homeless and why so few people want to help. Ian claimed that he thought in the same stereotypes as other individuals. However, he was given the same treatment as other homeless persons when he seemed to be one himself, including words like “Basically, no matter what occurred, it was your own stupid fault.” The most common misconceptions about homeless people are that they waste their money on drugs and alcohol, that they can’t be bothered to work, and that they chose to live on the streets. (Ian Williams, Quora, 2019.)
Summary and potential plans
As the suggested portfolio project included a potential means of assisting the homeless, particularly during this chilly winter, I also shared the project’s main takeaway with the intended audience, which will help me stay on task and ensure that the message is understood.
The project will eventually have its own branding, which will help the local community recognize it and become more aware of the problem. To accommodate users of any age, branding should also adhere to accessibility guidelines and design standards.

Social media campaign – Instagram
This project’s goal was to swiftly organise a social media strategy and create content to promote an upcoming event. Adam, Chris, and I were the three of us. We were coming up with concepts for everything from naming to branding. It was also suggested that the project be local and that a Christmas market be formed because it is the season. This market would have been ideal for families who would attend the market during the day with its numerous stalls. In addition to those who would arrive in the evening with bands playing music.

I was given the task to create a social media campaign for the duration of the project. I therefore done research to see which channels would be useful for marketing and increasing market awareness. You can interact with your customers on social media and learn what people are saying about your company. Social media can also be used for mobile applications and advertising. Social media can assist your business in attracting clients, obtaining client feedback, and developing client loyalty (WordStream by LocaliQ, n.d.).

Therefore, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter would be the greatest platforms for this kind of initiative. Facebook frequently uses a section to promote future events, and users are likely to want to attend if they see their friends there.

Giving the Hull council the concept and setting up a gathering spot would be one way to take this forward.

I was able to generate an idea using AI that may potentially be redone as ilustrations. In our group work, we discussed several forms of pollution including ways to ways to help arctic from melting. We also talked about how AI might be helpful for the campaign highlighting the value of the natural climate and encouraging the sustainability of the environment.

Without using a professional, anyone could design an illustration using these theoretically generated examples. However, AI has certain ethical issues because it uses parts of possibly copyrighted content that cannot be used or referenced because of their unknown origins. In any case, using AI as an idea generator can cut down on the time creative people require to digest ideas, which can then be used for marketing and promotion. Therefore, the AI-generated concepts can be redrewn and used as illustrations to give the website a unique feel. As we were discussing the group plan, I made the suggestion that we shift our focus from pollution photos to images of lovely, natural arctic settings in order to interest people and inspire them to support the environment.

The users will be able to feel the significance of the natural environment through the imagery. My task was to create a gorgeous arctic hover imagery in the elementor when our discussion was finished. So I made the decision to develop an arctic environment utilising online AI generators and produce hover shots.
